How we care for our horses
Limited dates are not a marketing trick. They are how the herd stays sound. Here is what that looks like in practice.
What we do
- Rides per horse
Each horse works at most [X] rides a week. Day rides run one week a month, one ride a day across both locations, so no horse is ridden day after day.
- Rest weeks
[X] rest weeks a month. The other weeks are multi day rides or paddock time. No day rides at all in July and August.
- A weight limit for every horse
Each horse has its own limit, set for its build and condition, to protect its back. Riders are asked their height and weight so Laura can plan the right horse.
- A backup horse for every booking
A second horse matched to your ability and weight is planned for every booking, so a horse that is off colour on the day stays in the paddock.
- Vet and farrier

- Retirement
[Retirement policy]
Why dates fill fast
With 33 horses and about 20 in work, one ride a day for one week a month is what the herd can give without wearing anyone out. That is why the next dates on each ride page are the real ones, and why the waitlist exists.

Resting right now
Horses sit out the season when they need it. They are still part of the herd.
